A Tayside derby takes place at Dens Park on Wednesday night, with both Dundee and St Johnstone hoping to return to winning ways in their Scottish Premiership midweek meeting.

Dundee missed out on the chance to win three successive Scottish Premiership matches for the first time since December 2025 to January 2026, after their victories over Aberdeen and Dundee United preceded the Dens defeat to Hibs at the weekend. The Dee's recent record against Hibs is awful but they haven't lost a league match against St Johnstone since October 2024 (winning two of three since).

St Johnstone have won just one of their past 15 Scottish Premiership matches away from home, after losing out to Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday afternoon, which doesn't stand them in good stead ahead of their midweek match. Saints have lost 11 league meetings against the Jambos in a row, since a 2-1 win back in February 2022, so will hope to put their latest loss behind them and clinch a long overdue win over Dundee.

Both Dundee and St Johnstone left it too little too late at the weekend and, considering their last Dens meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, a share of the spoils wouldn't be a huge surprise on Wednesday night.
