Falkirk are one of two Scottish Premiership sides still searching for their first win of the 2026/27 campaign, after Rangers claimed their maiden victory of the new season on Sunday afternoon.

Falkirk have now lost 18 of their past 20 away matches to Celtic in all competitions (D2), since a 2-0 victory in October 1994, after the Bairns were beaten 2-1 by the Bhoys at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon. Despite finding the net for the first time in 2026/27 last weekend, Falkirk have lost ten games in a row against the Hoops (only ever previously doing so between March 1950 and August 1954) with their wait for a win continuing.

However, Rangers managed to return to winning ways last time out. Having failed to win their opening three games of the 2025/26 campaign, drawing all three of their first fixtures, they avoided repeating the feat in the 2026/27 season thanks to a sole goal success against Aberdeen. The Gers hadn't failed to win any of their opening three matches in 35 seasons from 1990/91 to 2024/25, so will feel a lot more confident with the monkey off their back.

Falkirk failed to win any of their four league fixtures - with the last two amassing 16 goals - against Rangers last season (D2 L2), so the Gers will feel confident of beating the Bairns to try and keep building momentum.
